Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about how the service works, what's included, and how to get started.
Process
How does the interview process work?
You share a role brief — the position description, seniority level, and what matters most for the hire. We conduct a live technical interview with your candidate via video call, evaluate them against role-specific criteria, and deliver a structured scorecard with a clear hire/no-hire recommendation. The entire process is designed to require minimal time from your team.
What do I receive after the interview?
You receive a structured scorecard covering key technical competency areas relevant to the role, a narrative summary of the candidate's performance, specific evidence from the interview supporting each evaluation, and a clear hire/no-hire recommendation with supporting rationale. Written candidate debriefs are available as an add-on for a more detailed narrative write-up.
How quickly are results delivered?
Turnaround time depends on the engagement type. For individual interviews, scorecards are typically delivered within one to two business days of the interview. For retainer engagements, turnaround windows are agreed upfront and maintained consistently throughout the engagement.
Does the candidate know they are being evaluated by a third party?
This depends on your preference. Some clients disclose third-party evaluation; others prefer white-label delivery where the interview is conducted as part of their internal process. We support both approaches. For recruiting firms, white-label delivery is the default.
What happens if I am not satisfied with the evaluation?
If the scorecard does not reflect the interview accurately or a question was not addressed, contact us directly and we will review it. Our goal is for every evaluation to be reliable enough to inform a real hiring decision — if it falls short, we want to know.
Scope & Coverage
Which roles do you cover?
We currently conduct interviews for AI engineers, ML engineers, and data scientists. These are the roles we have the deepest evaluation capability for, and where we can deliver the most reliable signal. We are structured to expand into additional technical roles over time.
Do you cover all seniority levels?
Yes. We evaluate candidates from mid-level through staff and principal levels. Our interview structure and scoring criteria are calibrated to the seniority level of the role, so a senior ML engineer interview is meaningfully different from a mid-level one.
How are interviews conducted?
All interviews are conducted via video call. We are a remote-first service and work with companies and candidates across the United States without geographic restrictions.
Can you design custom interview frameworks for our specific roles?
Yes. Custom Interview Design & Scorecard Development is a dedicated service for companies that want the evaluation framework shaped around the exact role and team context. This is particularly useful when you are hiring for a specialized variant of a role or distinguishing between adjacent positions.
Pricing
How is pricing structured?
We offer pay-per-interview pricing for individual evaluations and monthly retainer pricing for ongoing interview capacity. Retainer pricing is available for both recruiting firms and direct employer clients. See the Pricing page for current rates, or book a call to discuss the right structure for your volume.
What is included in the base interview price?
The base interview price includes the live technical evaluation, a structured scorecard, and a clear hire/no-hire recommendation. Written candidate debriefs — a more detailed narrative write-up — are available as an add-on. Custom interview design is a separate service.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Monthly retainer engagements are priced to reflect ongoing volume. If you have specific volume requirements outside of standard retainer tiers, book a call and we can discuss what makes sense for your hiring pace.
Working Together
We are a recruiting firm. Can we use this as a white-label service?
Yes. The Monthly Retainer for Recruiting Firms is designed specifically for agencies that want a reliable white-label technical evaluation partner. Evaluations can be delivered in a format suitable for passing directly to your clients. This allows you to offer credible technical candidate assessment without building deep internal AI/ML interview expertise.
We are a company hiring directly. Which service is right for us?
If you have a single or infrequent hiring need, the per-interview Interview as a Service is the simplest starting point. If you are hiring across multiple openings or at a steady pace, the Monthly Retainer for End Clients gives you predictable evaluation capacity. If you want to build a more structured internal process, Custom Interview Design & Scorecard Development may be the right first step.
What is the minimum commitment?
Individual interviews have no commitment — you purchase them as needed. Retainer engagements involve an agreed monthly volume with a minimum term. Details depend on the scope and are confirmed during the engagement setup conversation. Book a call to discuss.
Do you work with companies outside the U.S.?
Our primary focus is U.S.-based clients and U.S.-located candidates, consistent with our positioning as a U.S.-based, remote-first service. If you have a specific international hiring need, contact us to discuss whether it is a good fit.
