How Our Technical Interview Service Works

A structured process from role brief to hiring decision — requiring minimal time from your team.

1

Share a role brief

Tell us the role type (AI engineer, ML engineer, data scientist), seniority level, and what matters most for this specific hire. If you have a job description, share it. If you have specific concerns about the candidate, flag them. The brief takes 5–10 minutes.

We use the brief to calibrate question difficulty, select the most relevant technical domains, and ensure the evaluation matches what the role actually requires.

2

We conduct the interview

We schedule and conduct a live technical evaluation via video call — typically 45 minutes. The candidate interacts directly with our interviewer. Your team does not need to attend.

Questions are calibrated to the role and level. The interview combines conceptual depth checks, practical scenario questions, and system design discussion depending on the role.

3

You receive the scorecard

After the interview, we produce a structured scorecard covering each evaluated competency area — with ratings, specific evidence from the interview, and a narrative summary of technical performance.

The scorecard includes a clear hire / no-hire recommendation with supporting rationale. Optional written debrief available for stakeholder sharing.

4

You make the decision

The scorecard gives you the technical signal. Your team makes the final hiring decision — informed by structured evidence rather than interview impressions.

If you want to discuss the evaluation or ask follow-up questions, a debrief call is available as an add-on.

What the scorecard includes

Every evaluation produces a structured scorecard — not interview notes, not impressions, not a narrative summary alone. A structured document with evidence-backed ratings you can use to make a confident decision.

  • Competency ratings

Rated across the technical domains most relevant to the specific role.

  • Specific evidence

What the candidate said and demonstrated, not just whether they "seemed strong."

  • Hire / No-hire recommendation

A clear signal, not a "depends on your needs" non-answer.

  • Narrative summary

A concise summary of technical performance for sharing with stakeholders.

  • Optional written debrief

A longer-form document for stakeholder communication or panel review.

Who this works for

Hiring managers

You need stronger technical signal than your internal process is producing. You have candidates to evaluate but limited interviewer bandwidth or domain depth.

Recruiting agencies

You place AI, ML, or data science candidates and want to improve submission quality without building internal technical interviewing capacity. A white-label evaluation partner.

CTOs and engineering leaders

You want to stop pulling senior engineers into interview loops and replace ad hoc evaluation with a consistent, structured process.

HR and talent acquisition teams

You own the hiring process but lack the technical depth to evaluate AI/ML candidates. You need a trusted evaluation partner for the technical screen.

Common questions

How much time does this require from my team?

Minimal. A brief to share the role (5–10 minutes), scheduling coordination with the candidate, and reading the scorecard when it arrives. Your team does not attend the interview.

How long does the process take?

From role brief to scorecard delivery depends on candidate scheduling. The interview itself is 45 minutes. Scorecard delivery is within one business day of the completed interview.

What if I have multiple candidates to evaluate?

Each candidate receives their own interview and scorecard. For ongoing or high-volume needs, our monthly retainer services offer dedicated capacity with predictable turnaround.

Can the candidate tell this is an outsourced evaluation?

We can conduct interviews branded under your company or under Vector Talent Partners — whichever you prefer. White-label delivery is available for recruiting firm clients.
